HIP'S Colorado connection

Record CD sales and radio play within the first week of release.

For most very small record labels, that kind of instant success - - experienced by YESSURR's "The Leak" and Young Duce's "The Streets Is Callin' My Name" -- would be a cause or celebration.

But Don't Sleep Entertainment head Greg "Big G" Tyiir of Colorado Springs already has his eye on the next album he's releasing. The way he sees t, these small victories are just he first bricks in his hip-hop empire.

"The game plan is to get Colorado to embrace Don't Sleep Entertainment," he said.

Once he feels he has strong brand recognition, Tyiir thinks he'll earn success on a larger scale. After only two albums both released April 10), Tyiir can already brag of high sales and radio play.

YESSURR's catchy single "Keep It Movin" is being played in regular rotation on KIBT (96.1 FM) "The Beat" -- a huge nod for the local hiphop duo.
